About Us

The Foundation was founded in late 2016 by Carl & Vivian Bonner to make a positive difference in the lives of New Mexico’s companion animals. Specifically, reduce the suffering resulting from the abuse, neglect and ignorance of those responsible for their well-being. Their intentions were memorialized in the Bonner Family Foundation Strategic Plan.

TRANSPORT

We work with and assist animal transport volunteers and organizations such as Dog is My Copilot, to move rescues and shelter dogs and cats to areas where people want to adopt, but they have a shortage of animals in shelters in their areas.

Retention

We assist with pet retention, working with programs which pay vet bills, supply medication, and other needs that pets require. We would rather keep an animal in a loving home than have to rehome them for financial reasons only.

Education

We partner with programs that provide education about pets to school children, as well as providing education/training for Animal Control Officers.

Spay & Neuter Programs

Spay/Neuter programs are helpful to helping curb the pet overpopulation in New Mexico. We support and partner with programs by providing rescues with xray machines and other medical tools needed.
